New Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War The patch notes are out for season 2, paving the way for a host of new content throughout the entire game.

The biggest change is the large-scale zombie invasion Outbreak and the arrival of new game modes like Gun Game, which requires you to progress through a set of 20 weapons and get kill points to advance to the next level. Start with a pistol and level up by claiming the final kill with a knife to win the round.

Outbreak Expansion

The next chapter of the Dark Aether story takes the Requiem agents into the heart of Russia, where they will fight to survive their greatest challenge yet. Welcome to Outbreak: an all-new large-scale Zombies experience like no other!

As Requiem continues to lag behind in the arms race against the Omega Group, various regions in the Ural Mountains have recently become Dark Aether outbreak zones. It's up to you and your three fellow spies to complete deadly experiments in which few survive, with new opportunities to research the Dark Aether and advance the Requiem's ​​agenda.

These new mods will also benefit from new and improved maps. Apocalypse is the jungle-themed debut, but three new maps are also on the way. Treyarch has also made a number of changes to existing maps, with tweaks to Cartel, Crossroads Strike, Moscow, Satellite, and Raid. Of course, new maps and new modes are nothing without some new weapons on them to wreak havoc. Whether you prefer to get up close and personal with the E-Tool and Machete, or hunt down enemies from afar with the ZRG 20mm sniper rifle or the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow, there's something for you.

Satellite

  • Fixed small gaps in the hatch that could be abused in the map center.

  • Trimmed the unused area near the starting starts to address areas that cannot be besieged in certain game modes.

  • P1 Hard spot area radius reduced to match the Control area radius

Gun Game [NEW]

  • Available in Multiplayer at the start of Season Two.
  • Progress through a set of 20 weapons from Pistol to Knife, advancing to a new weapon with each elimination. Melee combat brought the target back one level in weapon progression. The first player to kill an enemy with each weapon wins the match.

Gunfight Drafts

  • New Blueprints have been added to gear in Gunfight Blueprints throughout Season Two.

Search and destroy

  • Addressed an issue where both teams could earn points if final players kill in Search and Destroy.

UI

  • Reducing the opacity of waypoints during ADS and when looking at Hardpoint, Control, and Search & Destroy targets.

  • Outbreak is present in Zombies at the beginning of Season Two.
  • Continue the Dark Aether story with your team of Requiem agents in this new large-scale experience, complete with new team objectives, player rewards, in-game intelligence, deadly new enemies and various infiltration zones across the Ural Mountains.

  • Base-level ability: Bullets deal explosive damage. Each shell has a chance to explode, dealing additional explosive damage and destroying armor that hits (25 second cooldown).

  • The Death Machine Support weapon is now available in Zombies.
  • Fixed VO not playing when activating Napalm Strike, Cruise Missile, or Artillery.
  • Visual adjustments to placement markers for Artillery and Napalm Assault.

Fixed an issue with too many additional bosses spawning starting at round 125.
Fixed an issue where the bonus room War Store would remove vehicles when the player left the bonus area.
Addressed an issue where multiple players donated their life to a downed player.
Gems will now stop spilling when the player respawns. This will allow players to keep their multipliers more and evolve Divine Chalice Fate, which has faster player resurrection.

The Chamber of Justice will now always appear after round 65 is complete.

Fortune Fate now adds 40% to timeouts instead of 80%.
A Fate declaration sequence has been added to the Advanced Starter mode, allowing players to choose a Fate to play with.

Bonus Areas

Player deaths are no longer counted in the Slideways bonus areas.
Depending on the level progressed in the Advanced Beginner mode, the player will initially receive additional lives, bombs, and buffs.

Death Ops Arcade 3 Changes

  • Solo Advanced Start [NEW]
    New custom playlist available for solo players.
    Allows players to start from the highest arena checkpoint reached in Solo mode. No stats or challenges are saved, but achievements can be completed, including “Reuniting with Fidolina”.

    Added a new receive item: Divine Shield Potion – Grants the player a Divine Shield buff that allows the player to absorb a damage event (30 minute expiration).

    Addressed an issue that could prevent players from collecting a Fate in the Fate Room when the room times out (i.e. grabbing a Fate Rock less than 4 seconds before the room ends)
