How to Summon and Defeat a Valheim Boss

How to Summon and Defeat a Valheim Boss ;You will have to fight these tough bosses to get new materials and special powers.

valheimIf you want to advance in patrons You will have to find it and beat it. As you fall into Viking purgatory, you're greeted by a series of runes and sacrificial stones and Odin's raven, Huginn, who regularly chirps training instructions if you interact with him. Here you can learn about the five bosses you must defeat to advance to Valhalla.

When you first enter the game, you won't have to think about bosses for a while as you focus on building your base, gathering resources, and mastering the basics of warfare. When you start the game in a Meadow biome, there is very little danger and very few enemies. Huginn will warn you when you are about to enter a dangerous area like the Black Forest. While pest trolls may appear, they are easy to avoid for now. As your confidence grows and you use better Valheim weapons, you can fight Valheim bosses.

Boss locations appear on the map – some need to be located using runes. Patrons are invoked by placing offerings on their altars. Killing a boss and placing his bounty on the sacrificial stone grants you special powers, as well as loot drops and unlocks new resources for you to progress and enter new biomes. Here are the five Valheim bosses you must defeat and how to summon them.

How to Summon and Defeat a Valheim Boss

Valheim Bosses

  • eikthyr
  • The Elder
  • bonemass
  • Moderate
  • yagluth

EIKTHYR

How to summon: Put two deer trophies on the altar in the Meadow
Prize: Hard horns, Eikthyr Cup, new special power (stamina buff)

This is the first boss you can summon - a big red-eyed deer with giant antlers dripping with metal chains. Eikthyr's horns are electrified and he will use them to draw electricity from afar. The other two attacks include a close-range stomp and a fast, powerful ram attack.

Before taking Eikthyr you should make sure you get a full night's sleep and your three food bars are filled. Come armed with a wooden shield and a bow, which you can craft fairly early in the game if you have enough leather pieces from killing a boar.

THE ELDER

How to summon: Visit the Burial Chambers in the Black Forest and find the rune to locate the Elder altar. To summon The Elder, you must burn three ancient seeds.
Prize: A key for the Swamp, Elder Cup, new special power (increases wood cutting speed)

Deep in the Black Forest, this gigantic tree giant attacks with fierce vine attacks, similar to Eikthyr's ranged attack. The Elder also has an area of effect attack – stomp – and will also release vines from the ground to hit you. This is where your new pickaxe comes in handy, allowing you to craft new items like better armor and weapons with Valheim bronze. Fiery arrows unlock fairly early in the game and are very effective against The Elder. Additionally, the pillars surrounding The Elder are resistant to his attacks, so you can use them as cover.

BONEMAS

How to summon: Use the swamp key to access swamp crypts, which may contain a rune that gives you the location of Bonemass' altar. To summon Bonemass, you must present ten withered bones.
Prize: Wishbone, Bonemass Trophy, new special power (increased resistance to physical damage)

Bonemass is a giant dark green mud monster lurking in the Swamp. It also has three attacks; it leaves poisonous pores in the air, slides its arms, and summons minions to join the battle. All of these are hard to counter, and the various other swamp monsters are an unwanted distraction, so you want to play the defense game here. Come armed to the teeth with Valheim's iron armor and blunt weapons, along with venom-resistant mead. You have to play the long game, dodge melee attacks and only use this monster beast to take down.

MODERN

How to summon: Interact with a rune at the top of the Mountain to find Moder's exact location. You need three dragon eggs to summon Moder.
Prize: Dragon tears, Moder Cup, new special power (tailwind while sailing)

Although you can enter the Mountain biome at any point, we don't recommend it as you will slowly freeze to death. Up to this point you should pack in tons of layers and be ready to climb this snowy peak. Awaiting you is Moder, an icy Wyvern with piercing blue eyes and sharp claws to use in battle.

Like other bosses, Moder performs a series of three attacks, including the normal swipe, a flight attack that rains bullets, and a freezing breath attack that affects your movement. Arrows are your best bet for knocking down Moder, but your main hurdle here is getting ready for cold weather – we recommend wolf armor and frost-proof mead from the Valheim fermenter.

YAGLUTH

How to summon: Find the tablet inside the standing stones in the Plains that adds Yagluth to the map. You need five full tones to summon Yagluth.
Prize: TBC, Yagluth Trophy, new special power (increased resistance to elemental attacks)

The final boss in Valheim is Yagluth, a giant lower-trunk skeleton that slowly creeps towards you using bony hands. One of the scariest bosses in the game can be found in the Plains. Yagluth has three attacks: he shoots out a long fire and spins slowly, throws an orange glowing punch at the ground and creates a rain of explosives, hitting the ground creating a circular explosion. Most of these attacks are hard to avoid – you can still use stone pillars to protect you from the rain. You will definitely need healing potions and your best armor.

While Yagluth's moves can be preempted, be sure to use the time between attacks (and while Yagluth is focused on another player) wisely to engage as many melee attacks as possible. Yagluth's loot drop has not been confirmed as part of early access, but you can still get a placeholder item.

These are all the Valheim bosses in the game so far - hopefully in future Valheim updates there will be more challenging enemies to kill. Better prepare your best Valheim armor in advance.
